Born in White Plains, New York, he graduated from Harvard University in 2012 and launched Facebook in 2004 from his Harvard dormitory room. By 2008, Zuckerberg had amassed a 33% stake in a company worth $1 billion. Zuckerberg’s Numerous Apps

Despite Zuckerberg’s success with Facebook, he doesn’t limit himself to one regional monopoly; he’s determined to build an empire of influential apps. After acquiring WhatsApp, Zuckerberg rolled out the news streaming app Notify, which delivers curated content from several sources, including BuzzFeed, Mashable, National Geographic, and The Washington Post. He then invested huge sums of money in a multifunctional app called Internet.org, which is able to provide rural communities in developing countries access to the internet and educational material.

Zuckerberg’s latest venture is called Facebook Spaces, an app designed to provide a virtual reality environment for people to share 3D spaces with one another and spend quality time with their family, friends, and colleagues. According to Zuckerberg, it’s one of the first step towards creating a “fully immersive way to spend time with friends, no matter where you are geographically.”

Furthermore, Zuckerberg’s photo sharing app, Instagram, continues to grow in popularity and is often regarded as one of his most successful products, aside from Facebook itself. The app has grown to more than 800 million monthly active users who, according to research, are spending more time on the app than ever before. On top of that, Zuckerberg’s also acquired the popular messaging app, WhatsApp, in 2014, as well as a virtual reality game called Oculus VR.
