Elon Musk is a popular figure in the tech world. He has made tremendous strides in the last two decades, revolutionising the tech industry with companies like PayPal, Tesla, and SpaceX. Despite his successes, there is no denying that Musk has a record of poor decision-making. This article will explore some of the reasons why he is considered to be terrible by many in the tech community.

In order to begin exploring this topic, it is important to look back at some of the reasons why Musk rose to fame in the first place. He was one of the pioneers of digital payments, as he co-founded PayPal – a payment system that revolutionized the industry. He then went on to develop Tesla and SpaceX, companies that pushed the limits of what was thought to be possible with technology, developing green energy and making space travel more accessible to the general public. Musk is often seen as a genius, and he has achieved great success in the tech world.

However, on closer inspection, it is evident that his success has not been without flaws. Musk has been accused of making questionable business decisions and having a reckless disregard for the environment. For example, he was heavily criticized for his Skylon project – a plan to launch a satellite in low- Earth orbit that would be used as an alternative power source. The project faced numerous delays and was eventually shelved due to the fact that it was deemed too expensive and unviable.

In addition to this, Musk’s tendency to make outlandish statements has caused problems in the past. In 2018, he tweeted that he was taking Tesla private at $420 per share, which led to serious legal repercussions. He was accused of market manipulation, and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged him with fraud and imposed a $20 million fine. This is a further example of Musk’s tendency to make rash decisions without any regard for the consequences.
