In 2004, Sundar Pichai joined Google, where he led the product management and innovation efforts for a suite of Google’s client software products, including Google Chrome and Chrome OS.

Pichai was appointed the new CEO of Google on August 10, 2015 after former CEO and co-founder Larry Page announced that he would be stepping down from the position. Prior to being named CEO, Pichai had been serving as the Product Chief at Google. Under his leadership, Google has seen tremendous growth in both its core search business and newer initiatives like Android, YouTube, and cloud computing.

With over two decades of experience in the technology industry, Sundar Pichai is uniquely qualified to lead Google into the future. His appointment as CEO is a reflection of the faith that Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Google’s co-founders, have in Pichai’s abilities to steer the company to continued success.

Prior to becoming CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai was the company’s Product Chief. In that role, he was responsible for the development and release of Google’s suite of products, including Chrome, Gmail, and Google Maps. He was also in charge of Google’s Android operating system.
