Elon Musk is the richest person in the world, but he only used some of his cash to buy Twitter for $44 billion. For the rest of it, he used a tactic called a leveraged buyout and spent $13 billion of borrowed money on the acquisition.<\/p>\n

On April 25, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that he had reached a deal to take the company private at $420 per share, or $82 billion. The move would make Tesla the largest company ever to be taken private. Musk also said that he had lined up funding for the deal, which would value the company at $70 billion.<\/p>\n
