Most avid TV viewers and fans of the Animation industry are familiarized with “Rick and Morty”, the adult-animated sci-fi sitcom series created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. What many of these viewers might not know, however, is whether or not the eccentric tech entrepreneur and innovator Elon Musk is behind the very unique and recognizable voice of Rick Sanchez, the protagonist of the show.
The character of Rick Sanchez is voiced by Justin Roiland, who is credited as the co-creator of the show. There is no denying that Musk’s voice does share some similarities with Roiland’s work, and given their personality, it is not hard to imagine them having some vocal similarities. However, there is no evidence that Musk has ever voiced in any episode of the show. This can be confirmed when one types in the word ‘elon musk rick and morty’ into a search engine, and have no results that relate to Musk voicing a character in the show, or even having any connection to it.
The confusion of whether or not Musk was voicing the character due to commonalities in the voice might have come from a voice imitation of Musk that was done by Roiland, in which he imitates Musk perfectly while acting out the lines of Rick Sanchez. This can be seen in a YouTube video by Gorburger, in which Roiland does just that.
Media outlets have had some disagreements as to whether there is any evidence of Musk’s voice being that of Rick, as some of them have reported so and whereas others have disputed this. For instance, “The Guardian” reported that Musk was indeed the voice behind the character, whereas other outlets such as “The Verge” and “CNN” has more than once reported that Musk does not voice Rick.
Generally speaking, fans of “Rick and Morty” have seen enough of Musk that they are familiar with his voice. Although there are some similarities to Rick Sanchez’s recognition that Elon Musk can also muster, the tech entrepreneur has never been involved in voicing in the show nor related to it, either directly or indirectly.

Musk is currently working as the CEO and product architect of Tesla Motors and the CEO of SpaceX. In addition to his responsibilities within these companies, he is also heavily involved in the development of several other bold ideas, such as the Hyperloop, an innovative transportation system that was proposed in 2014 and is planned to connect major cities around the world.

Since Musk has become a household name, entrepreneurs and businesspeople around the world have been inspired and motivated by his story. Many of those who look up to Musk want to become successful inventors and innovators like him, and consider him to be the blueprint for success.

Musk’s Charitiable Ventures
Musk is renowned for his successful business ventures, but he has also contributed a lot to charity throughout his career.
In 2017, he donated $50 million to the Khan Academy, an online education platform. He has also given away $20 million to the Future of Life Institute, which is dedicated to researching artificial intelligence.
In 2018, Musk donated $25 million to the U.S. Fusion Program, a research and engineering program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) that focuses on plasma physics and fusion research.
In 2019, Musk made a commitment of $20 million to the Cascade AIDS Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people who are at risk of HIV or AIDS. He also made a donation of $25 million towards the reforestation efforts in South Australia.
