Early Life
Elon Musk was born in 1971 in Pretoria, South Africa. His mother was a Canadian model and dietitian, and his father was a South African electromechanical engineer. Musks parents divorced when he was a child, and he and his brother moved to Canada at age 17. Musk became an American citizen in 2002.
