SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has sent a Falcon 9 rocket to Ukraine, carrying 63 satellites. This is the first time a SpaceX rocket has been launched from the country.
The mission, known as SSO-A, took off from the launch site in Odessa region at 3:14 p.m. local time on Wednesday (8:14 a.m. GMT).
The payload includes 46 satellites for Planet, a San Francisco-based company that operates the world’s largest constellation of Earth-imaging satellites.
It also includes 10 CubeSats for Spire, a San Francisco-based company that tracks ships and aircraft; and 7 CubeSats for Canon Electronics Inc., a Japanese manufacturer.
