Elon Musk’s biological father is none other than the South African Engineer and Pilot, Errol Musk. A somewhat enigmatic figure, Errol was born in Pretoria in 1944. After completing a degree in physical metallurgy at the University of Pretoria in 1968, Errol Musk set off for the Democratic Republic of Congo. It was there that he worked as an engineer for a Canadian mining concern for two years before relocating to his home in South Africa.
However Errol didn’t remain in South Africa for long, as in 1976 he moved to Canada with his family, this included his then-wife, Maye, and their two sons, Kimbal and Elon. Errol Musk had a tumultuous relationship with Elon’s mother. In 1979, she filed for divorce on the grounds of mental cruelty. Soon after the divorce was finalized, Errol Musk found himself on the other side of the country, in British Columbia. In 2010, Errol Musk remarried, a woman named Heide Bezuidenhout, with whom he had two children.
